The Master’s Degree Thesis is preferably the result of an individual work, or at most developed by two candidates. It consists of a dissertation presented before a committee appointed by the Study Programme, describing an original work developed by the candidate and related to one of the many fields of application of the landscape architect’s skills.
The thesis topic must be agreed upon with a faculty member who assumes the role of thesis supervisor.
Procedures for thesis enrolment and deadlines
The mandatory deliverables required for the Master’s thesis are:
In the case of theses authored by two candidates, the number of deliverables and the allocation of each candidate’s contribution will be agreed upon with the supervisor.
At the students’ discretion, additional supporting materials may be submitted, such as physical models or video presentations.
Compilation-based theses are permitted, but only if previously approved by the Teaching Committee of the Master’s Degree Programme (CdLM), following justification provided by the supervisor. For this type of thesis, the report, prepared and printed in A4 format (portrait or landscape), must have a minimum length of 200,000 characters including spaces and must include a presentation in PowerPoint or PDF format.
